Have you ever wondered why all of a sudden, your life takes a drastic turn, you are surprised by a chance meeting that feels fated in nature or a sudden event spawns a series of opportunities?
It is probable that those moments corresponded to the eclipse season of the year.
What are Eclipses?
Eclipses are supercharged full and new moons that happen twice a year in pairs, sometimes threes.
Astronomically, they represent when the orbit of the moon lines up with the Sun and the Earth along the same plane. We can experience the moon blocking the light of the Sun in a solar new moon eclipse, or the orange glow of a lunar full moon eclipse when the earth is caught between the moon and the Sun and reflects the Earth’s surface. If either are witnessed, these events are awe inspiring and a shocking visual phenomenon that have symbolically been linked through the ages to omens, doom, and the sudden fall and rise of empires. Hence the foreboding energies around them.
When this happens, the moon, Sun and Earth are interacting astrologically in a more potent and influential way because they line up with the nodal axis. The nodes in astrology are linked to fate, destiny, and karma. Eclipses therefore can speed up the process towards destined outcomes that seem beyond our control.
Eclipse cycles by sign are roughly 19 years with the node node completing a full cycle of return to a particular sign.
Where the north node resides sits the dragon’s head and hunger for experience and increase results. We release and excrete at the dragon’s tale, the south node, experiencing a potential drain on our resources and letting go an ingrained way of being.
Taurus Scorpio Eclipse Season
The Taurus Scorpio eclipse cycle falls between November 2021 and October 2023. The north node is in Taurus and the south node in Scorpio. The intake of energy is in Taurus at the north node and the release of energy is in Scorpio at the south node.
We all have an area of our chart that has Taurus and Scorpio, and those signs govern a particular axis of your chart that will be dependent upon the time you were born, your rising sign. (Note, you need a time of birth to know the area of life that will be affected.) The houses they fall in show where the eclipses will take action and where we can experience beginnings and endings.
If we look back 9 years ago, we can see this particular axis was hit by the opposite set of eclipses, the north node of increase in Scorpio and the south node of decrease in Taurus.
Some of the themes for the Taurus Scorpio eclipses will include themes of worthiness, where we find value, areas of our lives that are resistant to change, transformation, self-worth, reconnecting with nature and the earth.
This particular eclipse cycle is especially potent because they are falling in the same sign that the major Uranus transits of 2021 and 2022 are residing in. Uranus is the bringer of change, revolt, and rebellion. He is the planet of disruption and instigator of the new world. Its energy is quick, electric, and sudden. Combined with the eclipses, uncertainty is guaranteed, and potential drastic invitations and releases can be expected.
Which signs will be affected?
The eclipses fall in the fixed signs of Scorpio and Taurus therefore all fixed signs will be affected which include Aquarius and Leo. If you have significant points or planets in fixed signs, these eclipses will affect you personally. The fixed areas of our charts are more resistant to flexibility and upheaval and can be felt more intensely.
